The Fine Art of Wedding Photography – A man show!

On Friday February 10th 2012, from 6-8:00PM, I will have the grand opening of my one man show of canvas prints at the Honeycomb Cafe and gallery on Daniel Island. Stop by to take a look at over 20 canvases of my work. The show is entitled “The Fine Art of Wedding Photography”. This post is a sneak preview of some of the many images which will be on display through the month of February. It’s going to be a great Valentine’s month display of couples in love! The opening is open to the public, hope to see you at the show.

Firehouse Bridals – Charleston, South Carolina

I love to shoot in unusual locations, always looking to find something new and fresh. So when I found out my bride had a connection to a firehouse, well just enjoy the photos. A wonderful bride willing to try anything we wanted at the Firehouse. W even planned on bringing in a real dalmatian mascot. Luckily I have ( don’t ask why) a toy dalmatian who was willing to step in and help. Thanks Firedog! I hope you enjoy these images as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Beth Bridals – Downtown Charleston, South Carolina

Beth and her mom and I met at the Waterfront Park in downtown Charleston this past Spring before her wedding ( see my post Beth and Mitch are married). All of my shoots whether a bridal, engagement or portrait session are very relaxed and this one was no exception. I have a plan, but whenever we see something we like we take the time and create an image. Beth is so sweet and so relaxed it made my job that much easier. We bring sheets to keep the dress as clean as possible, I ask my brides to wear comfortable shoes because we do like to walk from location to location. Beth was willing to try anything and we always kept each other smiling throughout. I love these images and I hope you will enjoy them as well. Thanks Beth!!

Tiffany’s Bridals – Downtown Charleston, South Carolina

I have been waiting to finally post these wonderful bridals! Tiffany wants to do a “first look” with her husband to be ( now husband) Chris. So I have been sitting on these until they get married. They did get married last week, so here are Tiffany’s fun and energetic bridal portraits. We had a blast on a wonderful afternoon in downtown Charleston a few weeks ago just roaming the streets and picking our locations as we went. What a beautiful bride and one of the longest dresses and veils ever.

Cadra’s Bridals

Take one beautiful bride, one great location, plenty of fun and spirit and a willingness to try anything and you have my formula for a great bridal portrait session. Such was the case with Cadra! We both decided we wanted to try something different, so we selected The Church Ruins in Sheldon, SC. We got the proper permissions, we selected a time when we knew the light would be nice and spent several wonderful hours playing and shooting and exploring the area. I couldn’t wait to share these , but had to wait until the wedding. Keep an eye on her wedding post on this blog soon, more amazing images. Thanks to Cadra and her mom and sister and even the groom’s mom who helped get her ready and believe it or not kept her dress pretty clean in the process. Remember I am always open to new locations and any ideas for these shoots. Right now I am trying to track down a sunflower field for a bride.

Amber Bridals – Daniel Island Club

Now that Amber’s wedding has taken place, I can post her beautiful bridal images taken at the Daniel Island Club. Thanks to Erin ( Daniel Island Club Coordinator) for helping out and making everything so easy for both the bridal shoot and the wedding. It was a fun session and Amber was so easy to work with.

Lauren’s Bridal Shoot

Lauren’s bridal shoot was in and around the Footlight Players Theater. We used the stage and surroundings for this playful session. Lauren was such a good sport as we danced and played on a beautiful day in downtown Charleston. Her wedding will be a blast to photograph, thanks Lauren. One of these images was made into a beautiful canvas and displayed at the reception.

Amanda’s Bridals

Amanda’s bridal portraits were taken after the wedding. Weather issues kept us from doing these earlier, but as you can see we had a great day for this fun session. I will be posting beautiful Amanda’s wedding photos in an upcoming blog. The location for this shoot was The Wild Dunes Resort on the Isle of Palms.

Julie – Beautiful Bridals at Magnolia Gardens

Julie just got married at the Magnolia Gardens and Plantations a few weeks ago ( wedding images coming soon), we did her exciting and fun bridal images here but couldn’t post them before the wedding. Here they are, she looks stunning! Julie was so much fun to work with, willing to try everything. We played with the images and one of these views was on display at the reception as a large canvas wrap.
