Crystal and Louis engagement shoot in Knoxville, Tennessee

Welcome to Knoxville Tennessee! This is where I met Crystal and Louis for their lively and fun engagement session. This couple are big fans of the University of Tennessee sports teams, especially football. The Vols won a big overtime football game to a big rival the night before, so Crystal and Louis were in a great mood and willing to explore plenty of places in and around Knoxville. We started just outside the stadium on the Riverfront and ended our terrific session on the site of the 1982 World’s Fair. I cannot wait for their 2012 wedding at Hilton Head, don’t be surprised if you see some orange showing up as colors.

Kasie and Timothy Engaged – Charleston, South Carolina

I met with Kasie and Timothy in downtown Charleston and we took a walk around Waterfront Park, Rainbow Row and a few hidden areas for our photographs. I like to stand back and not “pose” my clients, especially with engagement shoots. It’s the same way I work during a wedding, no posing, no trying to control the couple or force any image. I find the areas, I tell my couples just to relax and have fun. What I look for is a connection. I think I was pretty successful in capturing Kasie and Timothy just being themselves. Thanks to my wonderful couple for being themselves and having fun!!

Jennifer and Jeff – Engaged – Folly Beach, South Carolina

Jennifer and Jeff met me at Folly Beach for their fun engagement session. This is another very relaxed, laid back, fun and energetic couple. My engagement sessions fit them nicely. I do not pose my couples during theses sessions or during the wedding process. Couple’s seem to like this. So with Jennifer and Jeff we just played on the beach and I put them in situations where they can react to one another, that’s how I work. We borrowed a kids’ volleyball, and two nice surfers let us use their boards. People on beaches are typically very friendly like that. After some pictures on the beach near the pier we took a little ride to another spot that has a lot of variety and as the sun was setting offered us great light. I cannot wait to photograph Jennifer and Jeff’s wedding, it will be a blast I promise you.

Erin and Hunter – Engaged – Daniel Island, South Carolina

Erin and Hunter came in from out of town to go over the details of their October Seabrook Island wedding. After our meeting this fun loving couple decided to take me up on my offer to go out in my backyard ( called Daniel Island) and have a fun short shoot before they leave. No posing, no staged photos, that’s not how I work. We just went for a little walk around a few of my favorite spots on the Island where I live and work. We had a blast, they were so comfortable with each other and so relaxed our hour long session flew by with some amazing photographs. I cannot wait to see them again in October where I can spend the entire day with them. All my best Erin and Hunter.

Aubrey and Will are really, really nice people. I had the pleasure of photographing them at their wedding site, The Creek Club at I’on in Mount Pleasant recently. The setting is fantastic. The light in the afternoon always seems to be just right. That sweet colorful glow blankets everything with a summertime warmth. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding later this year.

Anna and Ben are a very special couple. So much in love and filled with energy and fun. The love the outdoors and food. So we decided what not go on a picnic. So we packed up a great looking picnic basket, added some wine and cheese, bread, flowers and had an afternoon picnic on Daniel Island just minutes from my studio. Enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them. I can’t wait for their wedding this Spring!

Tammie and Neal – Engagement in Downtown Charleston, SC

Tammie and Neal are still keeping me laughing. I shoot engagements to be fun and make a connection with my couples. So when I saw Tammie and Neal carrying several bags and flowers I couldn’t be more happy. I asked them to bring some props for the shoot….did they ever! Toys, flowers, Champagne complete with glasses, candles, bubbles and other fun stuff. I always tell me couples, don’t do anything you normally wouldn’t do, I want to capture the real you. Well they are a fun loving couple and the session flew by. I laughed with them throughout the entire session. As you can see from the images, it doesn’t take much in the way of props to create some fun images which reflect who they are. Several wardrobe changes also help keep the images fresh. I cannot wait until June and their Charleston wedding and more laughs and joy they share for one another. Thanks for a great session!!

Christine and Michael – Engaged in Charleston, SC

Christine and Michael love to have fun. So we spent a few hours in downtown Charleston and laughed and laughed. Christine’s smile and laugh is really infectious…just ask Michael. They also love those Clemson Tigers. They brought their jerseys and even had a little football game right on the waterfront. I won’t tell you the score, but it was close. It was a great afternoon and and I still smile when I think of these two during their session.
