Proposal at Middleton Place – Michael and Devyn

You can never plan too much when photographing a “secret proposal”. Michael and I had it all planned out. He was going to cross the bridge at Middleton Place, sit on the bench ( see first photo below) stand up, get on one knee and propose to Devyn. The young alligator had other plans. I had been doing my “nature photographer” thing as I waited for my couple to arrive. All was set until about 2 minutes after they arrived this gator decided to join them. Michael wasn’t all that keen on kneeling next to the gator and decided to find another location. I enlisted a mom with her child to help me out. We walked around as a “family” stopping to take pictures while keeping an eye on where Michael may be headed. She really wanted to see how this would unfold and I didn’t look so obvious if hanging out as a family, it was an awesome gesture! We found them just in time as Michael dropped to one knee and she said “yes!!”. All my best to this wonder couple.
